Most website owners want to get more traffic to their websites since they know that they’ll get more sales. Find out how to do this and get targeted traffic – people who will want to buy your products and services. Just follow what is written here and you will see results.

Usually when people go on the Internet, they are searching for something specific. What is great about the Web is that there is a lot of information out there and you can find just about anything you are looking for by searching. What you want is your website to show up in the results.

Do Website Search Engine Optimization

Tuning your website so that it shows up well in search rankings is called Search Engine Optimization (or SEO for short). For the purposes of this article, we’re going to assume that you’ve done this work – either done yourself or by someone who specializes in SEO, like a website design firm, who can also give you a nice design. This work includes optimizing page titles with the right keywords, placing the right amount of keywords in your copy, creating the right meta tags, having search engine friendly URLs and so forth. Your domain name should be old enough and if it contains a keyword, that is good, too.

So now it’s time to start ranking better since that is our goal. To do this, you want to get incoming links from other websites. These websites can be related to yours (which is ideal) but that is not necessary. If you have more than your competition, then that moves your website up in the rankings because it shows that your site is an authority on the topic. Search engines look at how many links (or votes) point to your website. If you have more than your competition, then that moves your website up in the rankings because it shows that your site is an authority on the topic. Make sure you link using keywords and not linked text that says “click here” because that is the wrong way to do it.

Get Incoming Links to Your Website

Getting inbound links to your site can be done in a few ways. The best way is when people just naturally like your company website and want to link to it. You do this by providing content that is link worthy. You can also encourage people to bookmark your company website on social bookmarking sites like Delicious.com. Be sure to ask friends and any business associates or vendors to link to your website. And you can always search around for related sites and propose link exchanges. Actually, you may be getting these requests already from other websites – this is why. These link exchanges are really worth doing, so let’s help each other out and do as many as we can. Don’t ignore those requests.

One secret to getting links is with article marketing. What you’re reading right now is me doing article marketing. You take some time and write a useful article that is original and full of good information. It should answer a question that people may have and be useful to them. That’s why you need to take some time doing a little bit of research. That article is then submitted to article repositories and you get to include 2 inbound links back to your website down in the resource box at the end of the article.

An important item to note about submitting articles is that for it to be of any value, each article that you post on different websites needs to be unique. What? Writing that many articles would take forever and would not be worth your time at all. That’s very true. So there’s a tool that will help you do that work and it’s called the Unique Article Wizard.

What the Unique Article Wizard does is automatically submit your article to many article repositories (most rank pretty well and Google knows about them) and also creates original versions of each article for you. I’ve used it many times and I’ve seen traffic and Google’s PageRank go up on those sites – and that’s the idea, right?

It takes a little time to write and submit each article but that time is nothing compared to the benefits that you get back. If you’re not a writer, you can go to sites like Elance.com and hire someone to write a unique article for you. When I write, I try to do one of two things – or sometimes both. I use the AIDA method, which stands for:

* Attention

* Interest

* Desire

* Action

That is what your article needs to accomplish and do it in that order. It must get attention. If it doesn’t, then people will never read it and get to the next step, which is get their interest and then turn it into desire. You then end it with a call to action. One way to accomplish of all this is to write a “how to” type of article. These grab attention nicely and lots of people type the words “how to” into Yahoo when they use the Internet to search.

After doing that, you will go through the wizard and adjust different versions of each paragraph. It will then submit the article for you to all the directories that want one in that category. I have it submit 70 of mine per day to about 500 or more article sites. Nice!

Then usually within 6-8 days, you will start to see more traffic coming to your website. search engines will also see more sites that link to your website and that gets you higher rankings. One goal may be to write and submit 1 article per week and you would see great results by just doing that. Many people are doing that very thing, so you know it’s working. Be sure to take your time doing it and include really good information in your articles. That’s key. You will look like an expert in your field and people will come to your website for more information.
