A lot of your time will be spent here – a WordPress blog can be customized easily and this is where you add new posts and add “plugins”.
Now have a look under Appearance – Add New Themes then click “Featured” to get a list of cool themes. When you find the one you like, just click “Install”, and “Install Now”. To see the result, just click your blog’s name at the top of the screen.

One of the options you can select in Market Samurai is “OCI” which stands for Online Commercial Intent – this is valuable information to have. Basically, you are looking for keywords that are being regularly searched for, but at the same time, without a lot of competition. If you can use a keyphrase that is specific to your niche (or market) that is getting a good number of daily searches, yet not being used extensively by competing websites, you could be on to a winner.
What does it mean to have a website “optimized” for keywords? For a start, it’s always good to incorporate your main keyword into your domain name – I have talked about this in Blogging Success 2. And in the HTML of your homepage, have your 3 main keywords in the keywords meta-tag. If you use WordPress, this is a breeze when you use the “All in one SEO” plugin. Finally, use your keywords in any blog posts that you write. Don’t overdo it – once or twice in each post is fine.

When you are setting up a blog, it’s important to choose a suitable domain name. Ideally you should be targeting a specific market, and the domain name should reflect this. More importantly, it should contain your main keyword phrase.
And unless you are in a very specialized niche, like “felt roof repair”, you will not be able to just go and buy a .com domain that exactly matches your keyword. But don’t panic – you can still have your keyword featured. The domain registrar I use is Namecheap, and it’s very easy to check availability of a domain. You just enter your desired domain name and it will quickly tell you if the .com is available. Usually it’s not but the .net or .org version may be available – these extensions carry almost as much value as the .com. Failing that, you can use a .info domain but I would shy away from this option unless I absolutely needed to have my exact keyword.
Anothe roption you have, if the domain name is not available, is to insert a preposition before the domain name. What I mean is, instead of looking for “footballshoes.com”, you could try “myfootballshoes.com” or “yourfootballshoes.com”. And if you still are unable to get the domain name you need, you could place hyphens between the words in your keyphrase.
The bottom line is, try to make sure that your main keyword or keyphrase is included in your domain name. Once you have registered your domain, it becomes yours for a year. Then you just need to specify which name servers you are using. If your hosting company is the same one that you registered your domain name with, great. You don’t need to change anything. If your hosting company is not the same as the domain registrar, you just need to enter the details in the section where you manage your domain account. in the case of Namecheap, you select the option “manage domains”, then “Transfer DNS to webhost” and enter the IP addresses of your host company’s name servers.
