What To Do If PC Slow To Boot Is Your PC’s Problem

Startup that takes a quarter of an hour of more is often the first symptom of failures in your PC. It could be that your hard disk has plenty of bad sectors or there are malware in your PC. If PC slow to bootis your problem, you should take a look at the following:

There are more than a dozen applications that run during startup. A number of programs are needed to be initialized during boot up, but overtime, downloaded and installed files are added to the long list of programs indicated in the Startup folder. As you continually use your PC, there are several others more that are added to the list and all these could combine to use up the limited computer resources that are available during startup, thereby slowing down the entire process. You can simply fix this problem – go to Start, run the MSCONFIG tool and uncheck the applications that you want to disable. After doing that, disable the services that run in the background in the Services tab that is located right next to the Startup tab. To know which services are running in your PC, look at the task bar in the lower right section of your Desktop and see which icons are there.

Tip: If you don’t know the effect of disabling certain applications, it is a good idea to check the properties of the particular program first.

Your computer’s registry is filled. As you use your PC, many things are added, deleted and changed in its registry. The registry is where all information pertaining to your activities with the PC are housed. As you add or remove programs, the registry’s capacity to perform suffers, overtime leading to failures and malfunctions. On top of this, the registry has no system in place to delete or fix inconsistencies found in it. While there are solutions to bloated registry, many are not easy to do. The easiest solution by far is the use of registry cleaning tools. In return for your troubles, your registry will be free of its errors and the optimal speed of your computer will be restored. As an added benefit, space in your hard disk will also be freed.

You PC lacks memory and disk space. As you use your computer, files – corrupted or not – are collected in its system. It is also likely that you are running on empty memory and nearly zero free disk space.

Fortunately, problems with your PC’s memory and disk space are fairly easy to fix. You can easily remove old and useless files from your disk, this automatically free up disk space. To delete, you can either manually remove the applications via the Control Panel or use the Disk Cleanup tool in your computer to safely identify and remove all files and programs your computer can do without. Then take them out completely from the Recycle Bin.

The files in your hard disk are heavily fragmented. There are plenty of causes to bad sectors and file fragmentation. Included in the top reasons is overworking your computer without tidying up its files. To resolve this problem, simply run the Defragmentation tool in your PC and it will automatically organize the files back in their places. After running this tool, you will start to notice significant improvement in your PC slow to boot problem.
